It has been a while since the update... mainly because I have just been simply waiting. I have though, managed to get all my paperwork together. The latest Visa Bulletin listed the numbers for February so I am almost certain with my number that my interview in Sydney will take place during March. As there was a chance it could be in February and as I would be in the USA until the start of February I have used these few months to get everything in order. The police report was fine so all that remains is waiting until mid-January to find out the actual date and then booking the medical and getting some current US passport photos taken. Everything has been photocopied and placed in the order and I also organised a replacement passport as mine was due to expire at the start of 2009 and so this seemed like an ideal time to get a new one.
For the educational records, I have transcripts as well as copies of the certificates and will also be included my full resume so they can see my job history but also to help with nerves if I get nervous and mix things up in the interview.
The main area of worry is the funds for the trip. The only thing I can do is take a chance - it seems current experiences in Sydney have seen people being successful so even though I will have more than enough than the US poverty guidelines, I hope for the person that interviews me, they will deem this as sufficient.
I am assuming my next post will be confirming the date of the interview and my plans for Sydney - so I am hoping in about twenty more days I will have some more definite plans to report.
