...and there was an envelope from Kentucky. It was a big envelope. I knew what this meant! This was about the Diversity Lottery. It meant I was in with a chance to get hold of a US Green Card. I had entered the Green Card Lottery for five years, but at the same time it was the strangest feeling to have the envelope in my hands. I had been totally consumed by other activities and was smack-bang in the middle of the Chili Peppers Australian tour so I didn’t even have time to comprehend what was happening. I saw the envelope at about 10am and I was going to meet a friend for lunch at 12.30 - no time to sit and read the documentation or see what was going to happen. Then I had to get home, get ready and head back to my 3rd and final Chili Peppers concert.
Driving to lunch it was surreal - the envelope had arrived... so what did this mean?
In a nutshell my NL (Notification Letter) was sent from Sweden on March 13th.
I had a case number of OC2008000009XX
That number is basically the most important thing I need to know. And translating data from various webpages, if all goes to plan and based on previous statistics, if I am granted an interview it will be sometime in mid-2008.
