The politics of the passport photo

The biggest task of getting the envelope from Kentucky is understanding the forms in it. Yes, they are in English but it is such a pressure-filled experience to get everything correct that all of a sudden, simple questions seem like a paper based interrogation. I decided to fill in the forms as editable PDF’s off the US Government immigration website because it looked neater and saved me from covering the forms in liquid paper. Information included questions dating back to primary school and the dates of my arrival and departure for all my trips to the US.  I don’t get my passport stamped upon arrival back into Australia so I had to include a page of approximate dates and trip explanations.

Then it was time for the passport photos. I had mum take a heap of pics at her work but measuring them there was no way they would be suitable or fit the requirements. Yes, there is a US standard passport size. So, I found out that Foto City, close to work, actually produced US sized passport photos. Success! I always thought that a passport photo had a universal standard..!
