This time next week...

This time next week, I should know what I will be doing for the next few years (or for the rest of) my life. Little bit daunting? Yes. But my patience is wearing thin. So much so, I am starting to plan for if ‘they say no’. Eg. I am getting a car because Melbourne public transport is so unbearable it is the only option. PLEASE SAY YES!!!!!

The medical examinations were a breeze and I am all clear. Some points -

- Dr Poppenbeek recommended I also get a Whooping Cough vaccination as it seems to be making a bit of a comeback in both the US and Australia. Even though I was vaccinated against this as a baby, it seems to wear off and a booster is recommended. So I was at my local GP’s office on Wednesday afternoon to have the vaccination and he then faxed Dr Poppenbeek confirmation of this.

- The chest x-ray and blood test were uneventful. Thankfully, the receptionist at Dr Poppenbeek’s office noticed they spelt my name CLERY instead of CLEARY on the blood test results. Now my medical was done on Monday and by Thursday I could have collected all the results had it not been for this error. As a result, the paperwork had to be changed and I was not able to collect my medical results were not ready to collect until the following Thursday.

- The medical results were originally not given to me in a sealed envelope. Upon reading other experiences, I decided to request and envelope to be on the safe side.

I have had a few banging my head against a brick wall experiences with Westpac in order to get a proper copy of the balance of my savings account. You would think I was asking them for some more funds in my account the way they responded to my request. Anyway there is one waiting for me (which in fact I think is just a final statement) at my city branch so I will collect that tomorrow. In the end that will have to do, but out of all my years banking with them it has been disappointing that the one time I actually needed them to do something for me they couldn’t do it. Even though it is on page 32 of their financial services guide. Ugh.

So basically I am all finished with the preparation side of things. I will take some photos about how I have packaged up and organised all my paperwork and post them in the next couple of days.
